Hey Friends,
How are you?
I’ve had a rough week- I severely strained my back and have been fighting a cold. The first thing we did when I was capable was go for a casual walk in the forest under the sun which helped. Then I got ready for a dedicated day of chilling and recovery.
And then… the power went out in the house for some unknown reason.
So- that’s no TV, no teakettle, no heating pad, no phone charger, no re-freezing my icepacks. So… I did something I haven’t done for quite some time: I busted out paints and canvas and spent the day doing some small studies of the views from our hike. It’s been years since I did traditional landscape painting so it was a treat while moaning and groaning.
Anyhoo… I gave myself the challenge of a weekly post here, so here I am at 50% energy– encouraging us to find the opportunities in our obstacles for what its worth.
I’m going for another slow recovery hike now, but while I am out:
• Would anyone be interested in seeing my little paintings for consideration? They are 8x8” and I could send them to you framed 9x9”. Let me know and I’ll share them soon.
• I plan to do my first podcast-type-thing on here soon. I will be catching up with my dear friend Kelly Burns- a writer, teacher and yoga instructor. She will walk us through a centering moment and I cant wait to share with you her wonderful voice and perspective.
• How have you been enjoying this new platform of Substack? I’d really like to know.
Thank you so much to my subscribers. It means the world to me that you have supported my efforts trying something new.
Be dareful out there, Jeremy
Please keep writing here… a breath of Jeremy blowing in the window provides sustenance.
I really like the Map of Persistence! I am really sorry you had such a rough week. I am glad the forest and sun were able to aid to your recovery. Then it sounds like self therapy art took over. I hope all is better. Looking forward to listening to the podcast and when you are ready...sharing the pictures.
